Apple MessagePad 120

For your consideration: Apple Newton MessagePad 120 with Newton 2.0. This Apple Newton is slightly used. It was removed from the box, looked at few times, and placed back into the box, into storage for about 15 years until now. It still works fine. This hand held computer is former Apple CEO John Scully's dream and was designed along the lines of the Apple Digital Navigator that he once envisioned. It originally cost more than a $1,000 and its innovative design led to other hand held devices such as the U.S. Robotics Palm that later came out at half the cost of the Newton. Apple later gave up on the sale of the Newton because at a $1,000 it was much more than most people were willing to pay and could no longer compete with the Palm. However, the original concept behind the Newton is reborn with the advent of Apple's iPhone and, more recently, the iPad. This would be a fantastic collector's item since it was one of the first devices that makes use of handwriting recognition. It does a fairly good job at recognizing a person's handwriting, but, of course, this device was still ahead of its time on the bleeding edge. The Newton includes its original packaging and literature. Includes stylus and Apple Local Talk cable. It even comes preloaded with an early version of Quicken for the Newton. PayPal preferred. Postal charges stated on this item is for the USA only. Shipping outside USA and International buyers please inquire for shipping rates.
